Since 2007 Tilers Forums started an annual best tile adhesive Poll and sent it out to the world to vote on, we then saved and shared the results each year. Except for a few years here and there more recently it did manage to pull off another poll each year, each time asking again;
Best tile adhesive please?
Which tile adhesive was allowed in the poll?
Any Wall or Floor Tile Adhesive. They always asked for the “Most Used” that year, so a vote sometimes fell into this most used category not because they used their favourite brand, but it was the brand that they found readily available or not overpriced locally to them etc. Professional tilers would often reply if this was the case, so we’ve kept and document all responses to all annual polls along with the results of each poll. Just for the records.
The tile adhesive type could have been ready-mixed dispersion adhesive (that dries to ‘set’) or cementitious adhesive (that cures to ‘set’ using a chemical reaction). Any brand, available in any tile outlet whether trade or public.
Who is allowed to vote in the best tile adhesive polls?
Any tiler fixer whether DIY or professional tile fixer. We didn’t allow own brand accounts to vote for their own adhesive so in the odd poll until we managed to weed these votes out, they were included. By 2010 we didn’t allow any tile brand to vote for any tile adhesive brand, whether tile shop outlet or tile adhesive rep etc because those would clearly vote for their own. So we would manually remove their votes as they came in, keeping all best tile adhesive polls legitimate from 2010 onwards.
How do I view the Poll Results then?
The following are links to TilersForums.com where each of the Polls have had their results in, then closed, then results published for everybody to see. Often we had many replies to the threads, but we didn’t always ask for responses too. From 2010 onwards we got clever with the voting so that companies didn’t vote for the brand they sold or manufactured or worked for etc.

Then we had a break from doing it as it was quite labour intensive keeping up with it and the results kept coming in similar. So we waited for a while, and did another in 2021.

There was a big shift from Mapei to Ultra, Weber and BAL over the few years prior to this and including 2021
Big thanks to all users of TilersForums.com for voting each time, I know it used to get a bit much sometimes getting an email or 3 and a PM or 4 to make sure we got as many people as we could to cast their votes.
We will soon do another for 2024 towards the end of the year. It is getting near hence me doing this quick blog post about the polls in general.
So look out for the genuine Tilers Forums Best Tile Adhesive Poll that will be coming online 1st December 2024 and will close at the end of January 2025 to give enough time for enough people to vote.
